Areola Scar Camouflage
Areola scar camouflage is a specialized treatment that conceals scars around the nipples after procedures like breast augmentation, lift, reduction, or nipple surgery. During your consultation, we customize the color and shape to closely match your natural areolas.
Using precise micropigmentation, we blend the scar into the surrounding skin, restoring a more natural, balanced appearance. The result is a smoother, more cohesive look that enhances overall confidence.
3D Areola Tattooing
3D Areola Tattooing is a specialized cosmetic tattoo technique that helps breast cancer survivors regain a sense of wholeness after reconstruction surgery. By using detailed shading and color blending, a realistic nipple and areola are created, giving the illusion of depth and dimension on a flat surface.
Performed by skilled medical tattoo artists, this procedure replicates the natural look and texture of the areola. While results are semi-permanent, the emotional and aesthetic benefits can be deeply meaningful and long-lasting.
Nipple Tinting Tattoo
Nipple tinting is a cosmetic tattoo procedure that enhances or restores the natural color of the nipple and areola. It’s ideal for those who have experienced fading due to surgery, aging, or other factors. Using custom-blended pigments and gentle tattooing techniques, the treatment adds subtle, natural-looking color to create a more defined and aesthetically pleasing appearance. It can be done on its own or as a finishing touch after areola reconstruction or 3D areola tattooing
Consultation:
Your experience starts with a supportive consultation with Nikki, where you’ll discuss your goals and review a pre-drawn areola design. This ensures you're completely comfortable with the chosen size, shape, color, and placement before proceeding.
Numbing:
A topical anesthetic is applied to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. Numbing takes about 30 minutes, and tattooing typically lasts 60–75 minutes. For 3D areola tattooing, numbing may not be necessary.
Tattoo Application:
Using a range of tattoo needles and carefully matched pigments, we skillfully blend the tattoo into your natural skin tone, concealing scars and restoring a natural-looking appearance.

The Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 requires insurance providers to cover all phases of post-mastectomy reconstruction—including 3D areola tattooing. We’re happy to provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company; a referral letter from your doctor may be needed.
Coverage and availability can vary by region, so it's best to consult with your healthcare provider and insurance company to confirm your benefits and locate qualified practitioners in your area.
There are currently no national regulations for paramedical tattooing, making it essential to choose an experienced and qualified artist. While some hospitals may offer referrals, few professionals are specifically trained in 3D areola tattooing. Our studio focuses exclusively on this specialized art, combining technical skill with compassion to deliver both beautiful and meaningful results.
We use numbing creams sparingly because they can interfere with how the pigment settles into scar tissue. Our method ensures a more vibrant, long-lasting, and natural-looking result.
Each session typically lasts about 2 hours, allowing time for design consultation, color matching, and the tattooing process. We take a thoughtful, unhurried approach—this is your personal healing experience. 2-3 sessions may be required to achieve final results.
Initial healing after each session takes around 4–6 weeks. Expect mild scabbing and some light peeling. We'll give you detailed aftercare instructions to support a smooth, healthy recovery.
While 3D areola tattoos are intended to be permanent, scarred or compromised skin can cause the pigment to fade more quickly than it would on healthy skin. With proper aftercare, most clients enjoy their results for several years before needing a touch-up. A quick color refresh typically takes about an hour.
Through advanced shading, color blending, and light manipulation, we create the illusion of a raised, natural nipple. Even up close, the effect is realistic. It truly is an art form, and Nikki has an extensive art background in realism detailed work using various mediums over the last 35 years.
No. Tattoo pigment is deposited just beneath the epidermis into the dermis, far from any implant. This keeps the procedure safe for those with breast implants.
Most surgeons recommend waiting at least 4–6 months post-surgery, but we require closer to one year. We want scars to be fully white and the skin underneath fully healed for best results. We offer free consultations if you're unsure or you can message us pictures for a quick check.
